Role overview
Join a platform engineering team supporting cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes, delivery pipelines, and internal developer tools. You will take platform projects from implementation into production and help product engineering teams deliver software more reliably and efficiently. The work spans runtime and compute capabilities as well as developer experience and CI/CD.
Responsibilities - Lead medium-to-large platform projects through implementation and production operation. - Build and maintain internal services and tools that improve developer workflows and delivery speed. - Work with application teams to resolve delivery barriers and shape platform capabilities around their needs. - Improve cloud cost efficiency, observability, automation, and incident response. - Evolve CI/CD pipelines and GitOps workflows, and participate in on-call rotations. - Support less experienced engineers through code reviews and knowledge sharing.
Requirements - Five to seven years of experience in platform, infrastructure, DevOps, or software engineering. - Strong Python and Java skills; deep knowledge of Kubernetes and container orchestration. - Proven experience with CI/CD, GitOps, Terraform, AWS, and cloud-native systems. - Experience operating distributed, highly available services. - Ability to own and deliver projects independently, with clear communication and collaborative working habits. - Must be based in the UK or Ireland; visa sponsorship is not available.
Nice to have
Experience with internal developer platforms, backend development, observability, reliability engineering, or regulated environments. Kotlin or Go familiarity is also useful.
Benefits and work setup
Work with teams across the UK, Ireland, and the United States, coordinating across time zones. Periodic travel to the United States is expected, with occasional travel within the UK and Ireland.
