Lead Software Engineer, Collector Engagement Team

Role overview Lead a small frontend engineering team building digital experiences that connect physical trading cards with collectors’ online accounts. You’ll combine people leadership with substantial hands-on work, shaping shared platform capabilities for quests, rewards, redemptions, check-ins and other programs. The aim is to build reusable, reliable features that can support multiple launches and a large consumer audience.

Responsibilities - Set priorities and coordinate delivery against program milestones, while coaching engineers and supporting their growth. - Design, implement and operate complex frontend features, and contribute directly to production code. - Make architectural decisions for shared components, application state, performance and real-time interactions. - Work with product, design, backend and platform partners to turn program needs into scalable capabilities and useful telemetry. - Review designs and code, remove blockers, and raise team standards for testing, reliability and maintainability. - Guide delivery from ambiguous requirements through launch and ongoing operation, balancing delegation with individual technical contribution.

Requirements - At least five years of frontend or mobile development experience, or equivalent depth, including production-scale consumer applications. - Advanced JavaScript and TypeScript skills and strong experience with React, React Native or a comparable component-based framework. - Ability to choose and design client-side state management and data-fetching approaches, not just work within established patterns. - Strong grounding in application architecture, APIs, networking, asynchronous programming and application lifecycle management. - Experience making technical decisions for substantial features and addressing performance, reliability, testing, observability and debugging. - Experience with CI/CD, automated testing and release management, plus the ability to guide a team from unclear requirements to delivery.

Nice to have - Experience with consumer marketplaces, commerce, loyalty products or other high-engagement applications. - React Native at scale or native iOS or Android development; familiarity with GraphQL, WebSockets or other real-time patterns. - Experience with analytics, experimentation, observability or frontend platform and design-system work. - An interest in sports, collectibles, creators or digital communities.
