About this role
Role overview
An in-house IT Systems Administrator role for a scaling healthcare startup that needs a dedicated owner of day-to-day IT operations. The position covers device lifecycle and provisioning, access management tied to HR onboarding and offboarding, Google Workspace administration, and holding a managed service provider accountable to a clear weekly scorecard. It is suited to someone who likes being the person who actually knows the current status of tickets, SLAs, patch compliance, and device inventory rather than chasing updates ad hoc.
Responsibilities
- Own access provisioning and deprovisioning for new hires and departures, tied to HR onboarding and offboarding dates, across Google, Slack, and clinical applications. - Administer Google Workspace including admin console, SSO, and a planned DLP/Vault upgrade. - Manage the relationship with the MSP and IT vendor covering laptop procurement, deployment and lifecycle, Tier 1 help desk escalations, and network infrastructure. - Provide Tier 1 support for core applications including an EHR, phone/text platform, registry system, Google, and Slack. - Hold the MSP accountable to a weekly scorecard covering ticket volume, SLA performance, aging tickets, patch and update compliance, endpoint security status, and onboarding/offboarding turnaround. - Maintain company asset inventory and coordinate laptop deployment for all W2 employees. - Support SSO and password manager rollout with the Security & Compliance Manager and Head of Product Operations.
Requirements
- 2–5+ years of experience in IT systems administration, corporate IT, or technical help desk roles. - Hands-on experience administering Google Workspace or a comparable environment, including user provisioning, SSO, and basic security settings. - Experience managing or coordinating with an outsourced MSP or IT vendor. - Comfort owning a device fleet across procurement, deployment, lifecycle tracking, and inventory management. - Strong documentation habits including checklists, inventories, and ticket tracking. - Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, remote startup environment and communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with MDM tools such as Microsoft Intune or Jamf and BYOD device compliance programs. - Experience holding an MSP or vendor to SLA-based accountability through scorecards and escalation paths. - Exposure to HIPAA or other regulated-industry IT environments. - Experience supporting a security certification effort such as SOC 2 or HITRUST.
Benefits and work setup
- Compensation range of $80,000–$104,000.
