Senior VMware Telco Cloud Platform Architect (m/f/d)

Role overview

Lead the architecture of software-defined data center and telecommunications cloud environments for complex customer projects. You will translate technical and business needs into scalable designs, guide strategic decisions, and oversee implementation in an agile, technology-focused consulting setting. The work combines architecture, customer advisory, roadmap planning, technical leadership, and advanced troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

- Gather and analyze customer requirements across VMware Cloud Foundation, Software Defined Data Center, and Telco Cloud environments. - Design, document, and coordinate target architectures for automated data center and telecommunications solutions. - Facilitate strategy workshops and advise stakeholders on architecture, platform design, and implementation choices. - Create delivery roadmaps that turn agreed strategic decisions into practical implementation phases. - Support and oversee implementation, ensuring that designed solutions are delivered as intended. - Investigate and resolve complex platform, infrastructure, and integration issues.

Requirements

- At least 3 years of hands-on experience with VMware Telco Cloud Platform. - At least 5 years of professional experience with Software Defined Data Center technologies such as VMware vSphere, vSAN, NSX, or VCF. - Demonstrable project experience with Telco Cloud platforms and strong knowledge of SDN, VNFs, CNFs, and RAN environments. - Practical knowledge of NSX Advanced Load Balancer and Kubernetes platforms such as Tanzu or OpenShift. - Familiarity with automation and orchestration tools including vRO and Terraform. - Confident working with Linux, Windows, and IP networks, combined with analytical thinking, customer orientation, teamwork, and fluent English or German.

Nice to have

- Experience with VMware Cloud Foundation and other hyperconverged infrastructure solutions. - Knowledge of backup and disaster-recovery tooling, including Site Recovery Manager. - Experience with VMware NSX networking, Ansible, PowerShell, or broader data center automation. - Familiarity with ITIL-based service and delivery practices; Polish language skills are an additional advantage.
