Role overview
Lead consumer product strategy and execution for a digital life-insurance purchasing experience used by a large audience. This principal-level role spans the full customer journey, from initial education and discovery through application completion and policy selection, with a strong emphasis on accessibility, simplicity, experimentation, and measurable business impact.
Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end consumer experience and identify opportunities to improve engagement, understanding, and conversion. - Use customer research, behavioral data, market signals, and experimentation to form, test, and refine product hypotheses. - Help consumers understand life-insurance needs and select appropriate coverage through clear, trustworthy product experiences. - Remove friction from the application journey and motivate users to complete important steps. - Bring new insurance products to market, including permanent and indexed coverage offerings. - Partner closely with engineering, design, analytics, and other functions to deliver cohesive experiences. - Set ambitious goals, prioritize effectively, and operate with substantial autonomy and ownership.
Requirements
- At least 10 years of experience in the technology industry. - At least 5 years as a product manager in a high-growth technology company serving millions of consumers. - Demonstrated success solving difficult customer problems and contributing to business growth. - Strong analytical judgment, including the ability to measure outcomes and use data in product decisions; self-serve SQL or product-analytics experience is helpful. - Ability to turn early ideas into actionable plans through rapid prototyping, feedback, and iterative delivery. - Excellent cross-functional communication and collaboration skills, including with senior engineering and design partners. - Ability to work from a remote location may be considered, with key stakeholders based in San Francisco.
Benefits and work setup
- Full-time U.S. base salary range of $147,000–$293,000, with actual pay determined by location, experience, skills, and education or training. - Remote candidates may be considered.
