Role overview Join a global trading infrastructure team as a hands-on Data Center Engineer responsible for testing, standardising, and maintaining server and network hardware. The role blends lab-based hardware validation with lifecycle operations, including maintenance planning, vendor coordination, and inventory management. International travel is required for deployments and complex troubleshooting.
Responsibilities - Test and benchmark server and networking hardware configurations for performance, stability, and compatibility - Run hardware acceptance procedures including burn-in checks, firmware and BIOS baselines, and known-good config validation - Plan and coordinate hardware maintenance and upgrades across multiple sites, including schedules, checklists, and validation steps - Direct onsite providers and contractors during installations, reviewing evidence and ensuring quality execution - Produce clear documentation covering test results, approved SKUs, configuration standards, and maintenance runbooks - Support hardware troubleshooting, spares decisions, and RMA workflows while maintaining inventory records
Requirements - Solid understanding of server hardware fundamentals (CPU, RAM, storage, NICs, firmware/BIOS, FPGA) and basic networking - Working Linux skills for testing and benchmarking - Strong attention to detail and a structured troubleshooting mindset - Comfort coordinating work with external parties and driving tasks to completion - Ability to document results and make data-driven recommendations - Willingness to travel internationally when needed
Nice to have - Bare-metal fleet experience or prior lab and burn-in testing background - Optics and cabling validation knowledge - Familiarity with vendor or procurement coordination, including RMAs, substitutions, and lead times
