About this role
Role overview A senior analytics professional is needed to lead the design and delivery of business intelligence solutions for internal stakeholders and external clients. The role blends hands-on technical work with stakeholder engagement and consultancy, steering reporting workstreams from initial discovery through deployment and continuous improvement. It suits someone comfortable acting as a subject matter expert across multiple concurrent client engagements in regulated industries.
Responsibilities
- Design and deliver reporting and analytics products using Power BI, SQL, and Azure data services, including dashboards, KPI frameworks, management information packs, and client-facing analytics. - Lead requirements gathering, stakeholder workshops, and discovery sessions to translate business questions into scalable reporting, data, and analytics solutions. - Build data models, semantic layers, reporting architectures, and KPI frameworks supporting operational, strategic, and regulatory use cases. - Partner closely with data architects, engineers, and technical teams to deliver robust cloud-based reporting and analytics platforms and ensure data quality, accuracy, reconciliation, and governance. - Present analytics outputs, insights, and recommendations to senior stakeholders and external clients, simplifying complex concepts for technical and non-technical audiences. - Manage multiple reporting workstreams in parallel, maintaining data dictionaries, KPI catalogues, reporting inventories, solution documentation, and reporting standards.
Requirements
- Extensive experience delivering BI and analytics solutions within a commercial environment. - Advanced Power BI development skills, including DAX, Power Query, data modelling, and dashboard design. - Strong SQL development and data analysis capability. - Familiarity with Azure data and analytics services, modern cloud-based reporting platforms, and data warehousing principles. - Proven client-facing consultancy experience, with the ability to facilitate workshops and translate business needs into technical solutions. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a sound understanding of data governance, validation, and reporting controls.
Nice to have
- Exposure to Microsoft Fabric, Python or PowerShell scripting, Azure DevOps or GitHub for source control, and dimensional modelling or ETL/ELT framework design.
