Role overview

Own security end to end as a senior executive, covering security strategy, engineering, operations, corporate IT, and the trust posture presented to customers, executives, and the board. The central mandate is to extend an established security foundation into AI security while continuing to strengthen cloud, application, identity, operational, and enterprise controls.

Responsibilities

- Build an AI security function and controlled internal AI gateway with authentication, tool authorization, prompt and output logging, data-loss prevention, model allowlisting, and shadow-AI discovery. - Define secure agent identity and access patterns using scoped roles and short-lived credentials, and protect customer-facing AI surfaces against prompt injection, data exfiltration, and unsafe outputs. - Lead application security, security architecture, security operations, cloud security, and corporate IT, including identity, endpoints, SaaS administration, and access lifecycle automation. - Advance secure-by-design intake, secrets management, organization-wide role-based access, SIEM detection engineering, automated response, and identity-log coverage across major business systems and cloud infrastructure. - Improve go-to-market and operational security through least privilege, managed access for contractors and service providers, insider-threat monitoring, and production-data hygiene. - Own customer security reviews, fundraising diligence materials, trust artifacts, and the technical controls supporting SOC 2 and PCI programs in partnership with legal and compliance teams.

Requirements

- Senior security leadership experience spanning security engineering, operations, cloud, application security, identity, and corporate IT. - Demonstrated ability to create a new security capability or team, establish practical controls, and operate effectively in a rapidly changing technology environment. - Strong cloud-native security expertise, including AWS identity, CSPM, EDR, SIEM operations, and modern application-security tooling integrated into CI. - Experience securing AI or LLM systems, or the technical depth to develop controls for agent identity, model access, prompt attacks, data leakage, and AI supply-chain risks. - Executive communication skills suited to board briefings, enterprise customer reviews, and clear risk-based recommendations to senior leadership. - An enablement-oriented approach that makes secure behavior the easiest path while removing controls that do not reduce meaningful risk.

Nice to have

Experience securing customer-facing AI products at scale; work in payments, travel, or another PCI-regulated high-volume environment; and familiarity with privacy programs or frameworks such as GDPR, CCPA, and emerging AI regulation.

Benefits and work setup

The listed base-pay range is $298,000–$400,000 USD, with equity for employees and possible role-dependent bonus eligibility. Work may be fully remote or hybrid through a hub model, with benefits varying by employment type and location.
