Senior Product Manager

Role overview Lead the Data Ingest product area for a platform used by roughly 2,000 school districts to support English Language Development. The role owns the roadmap for ingesting rostering, EL program, and assessment data from a wide range of source systems into a unified, scalable engine, and partners daily with engineering and data operations. Success means accurately transforming imperfect real-world data while keeping downstream workflows that educators and students rely on working seamlessly.

Responsibilities

- Own the product direction for Data Ingest, including ETL architecture, data mapping, and transformation flows - Frame complex data problems in terms of user and business impact and use evidence to guide decisions - Run user discovery with internal stakeholders and external customers, then translate findings into clear product bets - Lead cross-functional collaboration with engineering, design, and data operations using a Shape Up-style approach to discovery, appetite, and scope - Develop and maintain the shared understanding of ingest pipelines, troubleshoot data flow issues, and mitigate downstream effects - Manage senior stakeholder alignment by articulating the why behind decisions and treating enablement as a core part of the role

Requirements

- 5+ years of product management experience in a technical domain such as data engineering, business intelligence, or analytics - Experience working with ETL data pipelines and data mapping or transformation, with comfort troubleshooting how data flows affect downstream users - Demonstrated success leading highly technical ETL or data-platform teams - Evidence-driven and curious mindset, with willingness to run analyses and ground problem framing in real user and business impact - Practical fluency with AI tools for analysis, prototyping, or documentation, and a clear point of view on where they help - Strong cross-functional collaboration skills and experience managing senior cross-functional stakeholders

Nice to have

- Connection to education or multilingual learner communities, or a meaningful tie to the mission - Comfort querying data with SQL, ideally in a cloud data warehouse such as Snowflake - Basic data modeling familiarity, including schemas, dataset relationships, and downstream dependencies - Experience with SIS data, interoperability standards such as OneRoster, or rostering platforms including Clever or ClassLink - Familiarity with product discovery methods such as user interviews, lightweight prototyping, and structured experimentation
