Staff Software Engineer

Role overview Provide hands-on technical leadership across product development and modernization efforts as a senior individual contributor. The work spans architecture, software delivery, reliability, and practical AI enablement, helping teams ship new capabilities while improving established systems. The position influences engineering direction through technical judgment, reusable solutions, and mentorship rather than direct people management.

Responsibilities - Design, build, test, deploy, and troubleshoot production systems across frontend, backend, integrations, databases, and cloud components. - Set and promote architecture, integration patterns, coding practices, and reusable services, APIs, libraries, templates, and automation. - Partner with product and business stakeholders to turn customer needs into modular, observable, testable features and improved digital workflows. - Modernize legacy applications through refactoring, service decomposition, API enablement, automation, and replacement of obsolete components. - Improve reliability and support practices, including monitoring, alerting, deployment validation, rollback procedures, and incident response. - Apply AI to practical engineering tasks such as testing, documentation, debugging, code review, and defect triage; mentor engineers and share effective patterns.

Requirements - Strong software engineering experience across application architecture and production delivery. - Ability to work across frontend, backend, integrations, databases, and cloud systems. - Sound technical judgment, including communicating tradeoffs involving security, scale, cost, maintainability, delivery speed, and customer impact. - Experience improving system reliability, investigating production issues, and reducing technical debt. - Ability to influence multiple teams through hands-on work, technical discussions, code and architecture reviews, and mentorship. - Practical understanding of how AI can support software development while maintaining engineering discipline.
