A database administration role supporting federal customers, focused on Oracle database implementations across physical and cloud environments. The position blends hands-on operational support, performance tuning, and security hardening with consultative work that helps application teams design and integrate with the database platform. It requires an active IT-II clearance eligibility and involves coordination with a shared DBA infrastructure team.
Responsibilities
- Support all Oracle application database implementations in physical and cloud environments, including schema, script, and data loading alongside application teams. - Create and modify primary database objects such as tables, views, and indexes to resolve issues raised by developers. - Control and monitor user access, maintain system security, and define file organization, indexing methods, and security procedures for specific applications. - Run monthly Oracle AWR reports, review results, and recommend optimizations to improve application performance. - Provide consultation on database requirements for new and existing projects, and assist with troubleshooting application database issues. - Support Oracle version upgrades once approved, and assist in researching, documenting, and remediating Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) findings.
Requirements
- Five or more years of relevant experience in DBMS system analysis, programming, and administration. - Ability to run and interpret Oracle Automated Workload Repository (AWR) reports. - Active IT-II security clearance, or a current National Agency Check with Local Agency Check and Credit Check (NACLC) at the time of proposal submission. - Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate.
Benefits and work setup
- Pay range of $110,000 to $140,000 USD, with benefits and an emphasis on work-life balance for federal program staff.
