Solutions Engineer - PST

Role overview

A Solutions Engineer role supporting a technical sales motion in observability and application performance management. The position partners closely with sales representatives to qualify opportunities, run proof-of-concept evaluations, and present platform capabilities to both executive and technical audiences.

Responsibilities

- Deliver product demonstrations at customer meetings, trade shows, partner events, and other key marketing moments - Lead the technical solution evaluation and proof-of-concept (PoC) execution, both onsite and remote - Partner with sales to surface new opportunities and expand use of the platform within existing accounts - Guide prospects through discovery, solution evaluation, and proposal stages of the sales cycle - Present the platform vision to C-level executives and on-stage audiences - Gather product feedback from customers and feed it back into product management - Support channel partners as a technical trusted advisor and coach, including direct partner enablement

Requirements

- 3+ years of experience within the observability or application performance management space - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent education/experience - Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate technical value into business value - Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and drive them to a working outcome - Comfort managing multiple projects in parallel and supporting other solutions engineers as needed - Working knowledge of operating systems including Windows and Linux - Willingness to travel up to 30%

Nice to have

- Familiarity with web technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript - Experience with programming or scripting languages such as Java, .NET, PHP, Go, or Node.js, plus databases - Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP - DevOps or Site Reliability Engineering practices - Experience with containers, Kubernetes/OpenShift, serverless functions, and CI/CD pipelines - Automation experience with tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Terraform
