Senior Consultant - ICS/OT Cybersecurity

Role overview

A senior consulting position on a professional services team that helps industrial organizations defend the operational technology (OT) environments powering critical infrastructure. The work blends hands-on technical analysis with advisory delivery, covering architecture reviews, security assessments, and bespoke tabletop exercises for clients in sectors such as energy, chemicals, manufacturing, and utilities.

Responsibilities

- Serve as a subject matter expert on consulting engagements that combine documentation review, gap analysis, on-site walk-downs, and collection plus analysis of network and host data from industrial environments. - Lead the production of findings and recommendations, then present results to client stakeholders and respond to technical questions during those sessions. - Translate engagement insights into research projects that contribute protocol dissectors, characterizations, and other analytics derived from packet capture and related data. - Convert field experience into curriculum content for a customer training program aimed at upskilling industrial security teams. - Design and facilitate customer-specific tabletop exercises using realistic attack scenarios, and participate in sessions that demonstrate platform capabilities and knowledge transfer. - Support pre-sales by providing technical input for the scoping of new professional services engagements.

Requirements

- Three to five years of hands-on experience working directly with ICS or OT systems in operational settings. - Strong understanding of industrial control system components, instrumentation, and industrial communications protocols. - Background in one or more critical infrastructure sectors such as electric power, oil and gas, chemicals, manufacturing (including pharmaceuticals or food and beverage), or utilities. - Working familiarity with the broader cybersecurity ecosystem, including SIEM/SOAR, endpoint security, managed security services, threat detection, and network monitoring tools. - Practical comfort with system administration tasks (for example, maintaining Active Directory environments), reviewing network configuration files via SSH, operating system hardening, and remote access techniques used during client assessments. - Demonstrated technical writing ability, an independent learning mindset, and the capacity to coordinate effectively across distributed remote teams, with willingness to travel up to about 30 percent domestically and internationally.
