Engineering Manager, Proactive Security - Pods

Role overview A senior leadership role within a global security engineering organization, owning the technical direction for proactive security product engineering, bug bounty, and vulnerability management. The remote US position combines people leadership with hands-on technical judgment across consumer, merchant, and vendor surfaces, with success measured by reducing classes of vulnerabilities rather than shipping features.

Responsibilities - Set and execute the technical vision for security product engineering pods, bug bounty, and vulnerability management programs - Coach and mentor senior engineers as a player-coach, working at the lowest level of customer, merchant, and vendor security problems - Partner with product engineering, legal, security platform, and data teams to embed secure-by-design controls into products - Drive rigorous, AI-enabled bug bounty, penetration testing, and vulnerability management programs against sophisticated adversaries - Build and maintain operational excellence across security services such as vulnerability management data lakes - Influence the responsible adoption of AI tooling from a proactive security standpoint

Requirements - 12+ years as a security product engineer at an internet-scale organization, with 3+ years leading global teams - Track record of shifting how large companies deliver security products - Master's degree in Computer Science, Security Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience - Demonstrated technical leadership across account security, product security, and AI security for B2C, B2B, and B2V contexts - Experience designing controls and processes that meet regulatory requirements - Track record designing scalable, AI-enabled security review processes - Strong analytical and investigative skills, including leading root cause analysis for security incidents - Excellent verbal and written communication for influencing stakeholders across engineering and product globally
