Product Engineer (UX)

Role overview

A design-and-build position owning the experience layer across a complex platform with multiple surfaces: a web dashboard, CLIs, SDKs, documentation, and APIs. The challenge is creating coherent interaction patterns across graphical and programmatic mediums for platform engineers, security teams, and operators. This is not a frontend engineering role that implements mockups; it is an interaction design role that defines what gets built and ships it.

Responsibilities

- Define and ship interaction design across all platform surfaces, including dashboard layouts, CLI ergonomics, error states, information architecture, and progressive disclosure - Translate how platform engineers, security teams, and operators think about the development lifecycle into experiences that make complex workflows tractable - Ensure coherence across paradigms where a workflow may start in a CLI, surface in a dashboard, and emit events consumed via an SDK - Build what is designed, contributing frontend code and prototypes as needed - Help establish the design foundations and UX culture of a company in its earliest stages

Requirements

- Track record designing and shipping interaction patterns for complex technical products such as infrastructure tools, developer platforms, or enterprise systems with rich domain models - Systems-level thinking that can design information architecture holding together across a dashboard, a CLI, and an SDK - Strong, defensible opinions on what makes a CLI ergonomic, an API discoverable, or a dashboard useful under pressure - Sufficient frontend engineering skill to build what is designed or ensure it is a reasonable build - AI-native development workflow as a core working practice - Portfolio grounded in interaction design rather than marketing sites, landing pages, or brand work
