Remote job
Financial Systems Engineer
Job details
About this role
Role overview
A high-ownership engineering role focused on modernizing and operating the financial systems backbone for a global cloud-focused organization. The position sits within a Business Systems Engineering group and serves Finance and Accounting as a dedicated technical partner, owning NetSuite as the primary platform while bringing FloQast and Ramp online. Success is defined by an automation-first mindset that treats reducing manual, error-prone work as the core of the job rather than an afterthought.
Responsibilities
- Administer and own core financial platforms (NetSuite currently, with FloQast and Ramp coming online), including configuration, business logic, user access, and day-to-day system health. - Identify recurring, manual, or error-prone finance processes such as month-end close, reconciliations, reporting, and procure-to-pay, then reduce or remove them through automation, choosing the simplest effective approach and partnering with engineering for heavier builds. - Act as the business-logic and data steward for the finance domain, partnering with engineering to define and maintain canonical rules and source-of-truth definitions across systems. - Build cross-system integrations on a central, version-controlled, observable integration platform in collaboration with engineering rather than wiring tools together through one-off scripts. - Serve as the dedicated systems partner to Finance and Accounting, translating business needs into system capability and owning vendor onboarding, configuration, and administration. - Use modern AI tooling to draft automations and accelerate routine system work, amplifying output without adding manual effort.
Requirements
- 3–6 years administering a financial or ERP system, with hands-on NetSuite administration required. - Experience with NetSuite configuration, customization, user access, roles, permissions, workflows, and core modules such as General Ledger, Advanced Revenue Management, Accounts, and subsidiary/multi-location structures. - Ability to design custom records, fields, and automations and to build SuiteFlow workflows in response to changing business needs. - Working knowledge of core finance and accounting processes including month-end close, reconciliation, accounts payable/procure-to-pay, and revenue. - Demonstrated track record of automating repetitive work through scripting, saved searches, workflow automation, or low-code or iPaaS tools. - Comfort with at least one of SuiteScript, SQL, general scripting, or API-based automation, plus the judgment to reason about integrations even when engineering builds them.
Nice to have
- Hands-on administration experience with FloQast and/or Ramp. - Experience working against a central integration platform or in an event-driven environment. - Familiarity with AI coding and automation tools in day-to-day work. - Depth in SuiteScript (1.0 / 2.0), RESTlets, or NetSuite web services.
Benefits and work setup
- Fully remote position based in the United States (Eastern time zone), the United Kingdom, or Ireland. - Unlimited vacation and flexible working options that support work-life balance. - Health insurance and parental leave coverage. - Employee stock option plan, home office allowance, professional development stipend, and a peer recognition program. - An inclusive, globally distributed team culture that encourages entrepreneurial thinking and skill growth.
