Role overview Lead a multidisciplinary engineering team within a global R&D organization focused on cloud financial operations for multicloud customers. This player-coach Engineering Manager role is embedded directly with the team, owning both delivery and people development while remaining hands-on in code, design, and reviews. You will set the technical direction, raise the engineering bar, and champion AI-augmented ways of working across a revenue management product surface built for Azure.
Responsibilities - Lead a team of engineers, owning delivery commitments, technical quality, and individual growth through 1:1s, growth plans, and candid feedback - Write and review code, drive architectural decisions with senior ICs, and keep components scalable, healthy, and ready to ship - Partner with the Technical Product Owner and Product on roadmap, sequencing, scope, and tradeoffs, translating business objectives into engineering priorities - Run a disciplined cadence of planning, prioritization, and delivery while staying adaptable to re-planning and re-staffing - Own end-to-end hiring for the team, setting and holding a high bar while developing the next layer of tech leads and staff-level engineers - Lead and model AI-augmented workflows, applying judgment about where AI improves velocity and quality without lowering standards - Communicate clearly upward, downward, and across functions, including Product, Design, GTM, and Customer Success
Requirements - 10+ years of engineering experience, including 4+ years in engineering management with active coding responsibilities - Hands-on experience building cloud-based SaaS products running in production on Azure, with ideally additional AWS or GCP exposure - Background in or strong understanding of the FinOps space - API-first product mindset, with products designed for both UI users and programmatic or agent access - Experience managing multidisciplinary teams that include full-stack and data engineers - Demonstrated track record of visibly transforming an engineering team through velocity, quality, or capability improvements - Deep technical fluency in the team's primary stack and ability to review code at a senior level - Strong opinions on hiring, coaching, performance management, and technical decision-making, with clear judgment under pressure
Nice to have - Strong Golang experience - Established AI-augmented workflow with opinions on agentic tooling - Hands-on experience across more than one cloud provider - Background scaling teams, processes, or technical systems through growth
