About this role
Role overview A security operations analyst role focused on advancing organizational security posture through real-time log analysis, threat identification, and incident response. The position evaluates security alerts, maintains tools and systems, and stays current on emerging threats to keep critical infrastructure protected.
Responsibilities - Analyze security threats, vulnerabilities, and problems, and manage incoming security alerts and detections - Work through tickets and resolve them within defined SLAs - Participate in security incident response and post-incident analysis - Assist in configuring, managing, and maintaining security-related software and systems - Stay current on emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and audit framework updates - Evaluate new tools to improve operational efficiencies - Provide metrics and statistics to management and offer feedback on practice improvements - Support audit activities for compliance - Convey policy and standards requirements to end users and set clear expectations - Participate in incident response alongside other teams as necessary
Requirements - Three or more years of experience in Information Technology or a related technical discipline - Advanced knowledge of Information Security design concepts and principles - Strong written and verbal communication skills - Customer service background with strong interpersonal and organizational skills - Demonstrated in-depth log analysis ability - Experience responding to security incidents - Willingness and ability to obtain the CISSP certification if not already held
Nice to have - Master's degree in a technical discipline - Two or more years of dedicated Information Security experience - Two or more years with SIEM technologies (Splunk preferred) - Experience with cloud-based identity providers, SSO, and SAML - Familiarity with zScaler, web application firewalls, and DDoS protection - Vulnerability management software experience (Tenable preferred) - Endpoint detection and response experience (CrowdStrike preferred) - Scripting skills in Python, Go, PHP, PowerShell, or Bash - Help desk or penetration testing background
