Role overview

A mid-level application developer position focused on building, enhancing, and maintaining cloud-native services on Microsoft Azure within a federally aligned agile environment. The role blends new feature development with ongoing Operations and Maintenance (O&M) support for mission-critical systems, requiring collaboration with technical leads, testers, and cross-functional teammates to translate requirements into reliable, maintainable solutions.

Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and deploy cloud-native applications, services, and enhancements using Azure Functions, App Services, and related platform capabilities. - Translate technical requirements and architecture designs into well-structured, maintainable code across the development lifecycle. - Build and integrate APIs and microservices that connect to relational and NoSQL data stores, including Azure Storage (Blob, Table, Queues). - Support O&M activities for existing applications, including troubleshooting, defect resolution, and ongoing reliability improvements. - Configure and maintain CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps, contributing to automated builds, testing, and deployment workflows. - Participate in code reviews, pair programming, and continuous improvement efforts around code quality and engineering practices.

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in a technical field with 5+ years of relevant development experience, or equivalent professional experience in lieu of a degree. - 5+ years working with Microsoft development tools such as Visual Studio, SQL Server, C#, .NET, .NET Core/.NET 5+, WCF, SSIS, and SSRS. - Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure, including Azure Functions and serverless patterns, App Services, and deployment/environment configuration. - Practical experience with NoSQL and Azure Storage accounts and an understanding of scalable non-relational data design. - Familiarity with Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines for automated builds, testing, and releases. - Strong written and verbal communication, solid problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate within a development team.

Nice to have

- Experience developing or supporting systems used by financial users. - Familiarity with commodity futures, options, or swaps systems. - Exposure to federal or other regulated environments.
