Role overview
This remote Product Designer role covers UX and UI work for a technical product used in cloud infrastructure management, DevOps, platform engineering, reliability, and automation. You will work with engineering and product stakeholders to understand problems, map user journeys, prototype solutions, and guide features from early concepts through launch. The role offers broad influence over product design, design-system consistency, and the way complex technical workflows are made easier to use.
Responsibilities
- Produce wireframes, user flows, functional specifications, component guidance, and other artifacts for development teams. - Collaborate with engineering, product management, and leadership to define problems and develop practical solutions. - Prototype and refine experiences throughout delivery sprints, incorporating implementation feedback. - Use qualitative and quantitative evidence to inform design decisions; create explicit hypotheses when evidence is limited. - Contribute to the design system library and maintain consistency across reusable components. - Help shape and maintain the product’s visual language and brand expression.
Requirements
- Experience designing digital products, including both user experience and interface design. - Ability to translate complex problems into clear user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and implementation-ready documentation. - Strong cross-functional collaboration skills with product and engineering teams. - Proactive decision-making and willingness to influence product direction. - Comfort using research, data, and hypotheses to guide design work. - Interest in technical products and workflows involving cloud infrastructure, automation, or developer tools.
Nice to have
- Experience designing for developers, DevOps, site reliability, platform engineering, or infrastructure-management products. - Experience contributing to design systems, component libraries, or product branding.
