Role overview
This remote Product Designer role focuses on shaping the user experience of a platform for cloud infrastructure management, DevOps, site reliability, automation, and software delivery. You will work across discovery, interaction design, visual systems, and delivery, partnering closely with product and engineering teams to turn complex technical workflows into accessible, reliable experiences. The position may be full-time or part-time and suits a proactive designer who enjoys influencing product decisions in a rapidly evolving technical space.
Responsibilities
- Create detailed wireframes, user flows, prototypes, functional specifications, and other design artifacts for implementation. - Collaborate with engineering, product management, and organizational leaders to define problems and guide features from concept through launch. - Refine designs and documentation during development sprints as product constraints and user needs become clearer. - Use qualitative and quantitative evidence to inform design decisions, or establish clear hypotheses when data is limited. - Contribute to the design system and brand expression by reviewing, documenting, and improving reusable components. - Help make complex infrastructure, deployment, automation, and technical workflows easier for users to understand and operate.
Requirements
- Experience designing digital products across research, interaction design, prototyping, and delivery. - Ability to communicate design rationale clearly through wireframes, flows, specifications, and collaborative reviews. - Strong cross-functional working style, especially with product and engineering partners. - Flexible, curious, and comfortable working through ambiguity and changing priorities. - Interest in developers, cloud infrastructure, DevOps, SRE, platform engineering, or automation. - Proactive approach to making decisions, seeking feedback, and carrying work through to completion.
