SkillBridge Intern - Platform Engineer

Role overview SkillBridge internship for service members within 180 days of separation, focused on platform engineering for cybersecurity applications. The role transforms applications into Kubernetes-friendly formats and deploys them on bare-metal infrastructure, bridging application developers and the production environment team. U.S. citizenship and Top Secret clearance eligibility are required.

Responsibilities - Transform cybersecurity applications into Kubernetes-friendly formats and deploy them on bare-metal clusters. - Serve as a technical bridge between the application development team and the production environment, advocating best practices. - Contribute to the long-term strategic vision for products and align technology choices to mission objectives. - Evaluate and weigh alternative approaches to complex problems, contributing to open source projects and product repositories. - Assess new products quickly for mission fit and surface process gaps for the product backlog. - Solve technical problems that span multiple knowledge domains and demonstrate depth in one or two core technologies such as pipelines, GitOps, Kubernetes, or Go.

Requirements - DoD SkillBridge eligibility within 180 days of separating from service, U.S. citizenship, and eligibility for a Top Secret clearance. - Experience with DoD weapon systems or Program Management Offices, plus familiarity with Cyberspace Operations or Incident Response tools. - DoD 8570 IAT II certification and exposure to Big Bang, Iron Bank, or C-ATO accreditation processes. - Working knowledge of DevSecOps and CI/CD theory, Agile frameworks, and compliance-driven delivery. - Advocacy for Infrastructure as Code and Cybersecurity as Code, plus hands-on automated testing experience. - Proficiency with Kubernetes deployment and security, full-stack development, application transformation for Kubernetes, scripting in Python, Go, or Ansible, and authoring YAML.
