Role overview This role focuses on AI-accelerated developer workflows and emerging ecosystems, helping modern builders integrate observability into fast-moving AI-native applications. The Senior Developer Advocate combines hands-on engineering with public storytelling, shaping how next-generation developers approach software health, scalability, and reliability.
Responsibilities - Guide developers on balancing AI-assisted rapid prototyping with established engineering practices around performance, code health, and reliability - Build in public by creating authentic peer-to-peer technical content where modern developers collaborate online and in person - Establish a bidirectional feedback loop between external developer communities and internal product teams, translating real-world experiences into product insights - Design and ship open-source boilerplate templates, quickstarts, and tools that make observability integration seamless across AI-native workflows, next-gen platforms, and major cloud providers - Advocate for user needs from inside the organization
Requirements - Approximately 10+ years of software engineering experience, ideally having shipped applications from scratch or worn multiple hats at an early-stage startup - AI-fluent developer who regularly uses AI coding assistants and rapid-prototyping tools as part of day-to-day work - Multi-stack comfortable, with experience across languages such as JavaScript/TypeScript or Python and deployment paradigms spanning next-gen platforms and traditional cloud ecosystems - Approximately 3+ years of technical storytelling and community engagement experience - Public portfolio of GitHub repositories, technical blogs, video walkthroughs, or conference presentations - Self-driven explorer of emerging technologies with passion for developer education and mentorship
Nice to have - Active participation, contribution, or moderation in developer spaces such as meetups, Discord, Reddit, or next-generation open-source ecosystems
