Role overview This is a remote Developer Advocate role focused on service management across the EMEA region. The position bridges engineering expertise and community storytelling, helping practitioners improve incident response, on-call operations, and workflow automation. The advocate will shape conversations across the SRE, DevOps, and Platform Engineering communities while working closely with internal product teams.
Responsibilities - Serve as a subject matter expert on incident response, on-call practices, internal developer portals, workflow automation, and operational tooling, supporting both advocacy and engineering functions - Produce content across multiple mediums including technical demos, blog posts, conference talks, documentation, webinars, open-source contributions, and research reports - Partner with product engineering to design compelling demos and coach internal teams on effective technical communication and presentation skills - Engage with open-source communities to amplify key messaging and contribute new integrations - Feed product improvements back through bug reports, enhancement suggestions, documentation, or code contributions
Requirements - Around five or more years of hands-on experience as a Platform Engineer, Site Reliability Engineer, DevOps Engineer, or Software Developer, including on-call duty and running production systems at scale - Deep familiarity with core service-management practices such as incident response, on-call rotations, post-incident reviews, and SLOs, using contemporary tooling like PagerDuty, Opsgenie, incident.io, Rootly, Jira Cloud Platform, or Cortex - Approximately two or more years of public-facing storytelling experience such as conference speaking, blogging, video creation, workshop facilitation, or open-source contributions, with a portfolio of writing samples, demos, or recordings - Comfort with at least one scripting or programming language (Node.js, Python, Go, or bash) and familiarity with REST APIs, IaaS cloud services, and containerized infrastructure - Genuine interest in helping teams solve organizational challenges alongside technical ones
Nice to have - Hands-on experience with ITSM platforms such as ServiceNow or Jira Service Management - Existing active membership in SRE, DevOps, or incident-response communities
