Role overview A senior field engineering role focused on U.S. federal government customers, owning end-to-end delivery of data and AI solutions in production environments. The position blends hands-on engineering with customer-facing architecture work, requiring comfort with classified settings and on-site collaboration with technical and executive stakeholders.
Responsibilities - Lead delivery of production-grade solutions including data ingestion, custom applications, and ML/AI model integration against a cloud data platform - Own architecture and design decisions, ensuring systems are secure, scalable, and aligned with customer needs - Guide customer teams through evaluation and adoption, providing implementation, training, and technical guidance - Partner with engagement managers to scope technical work and align on delivery plans - Embed with customer teams, engaging stakeholders from individual contributors to executives to translate business challenges into technical solutions - Contribute reusable accelerators, frameworks, and best practices that influence the broader product roadmap
Requirements - 6+ years in data engineering, data platforms and analytics, or software engineering - Proficiency in Python, Scala, and JavaScript/TypeScript with modern frameworks - Working knowledge of two or more clouds (AWS, Azure, GCP) and depth in at least one - Deep experience with distributed computing using Apache Spark, including runtime internals - Familiarity with CI/CD for production deployments and MLOps practices for ML/AI models and APIs - U.S. citizenship and eligibility for a U.S. government Secret clearance, due to federal contract and site access requirements; active clearance strongly preferred
Benefits and work setup Hybrid role with 20-25% travel to customer locations. Listed base pay range is $182,000-$250,208 USD across geographic zones; total compensation may include performance bonus and equity.
