Specialist Solutions Architect - Data Engineering (Healthcare & Life Sciences)

Role overview A customer-facing Specialist Solutions Architect role guiding healthcare and life sciences customers in building big data solutions. The position focuses on data engineering workloads, providing technical leadership from architectural design through data pipeline deployment, while developing deep specialty expertise in an area such as streaming, performance tuning, or data lake technology.

Responsibilities - Provide technical leadership to guide strategic customers through successful big data implementations, from architectural design through deployment - Architect production-level data pipelines, including end-to-end performance testing and optimization - Develop deep expertise in an area such as data lake technology, big data streaming, or ingestion workflows - Support Solution Architects with advanced technical sales including custom proof-of-concept content, workload sizing, and custom architectures - Deliver tutorials, training, and community contributions including hackathons and conference presentations

Requirements - 5+ years in a technical role with expertise in software engineering, data engineering, or data applications engineering - 2+ years professional experience with Big Data technologies such as Spark, Hadoop, or Kafka - 2+ years in a customer-facing pre-sales or post-sales role - Production programming experience in SQL and Python, Scala, or Java - Experience maintaining and extending production data systems and scaling big data workloads such as ETL - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent experience - Ability to travel up to 30%
