Software Engineer (C++/C#)

Role overview A market data platform serving futures, options, and equities is hiring a mid-level or senior individual contributor to join its core engineering team. The work spans both client-facing and server-side code, with a strong emphasis on low-latency, high-throughput systems used by leading trading firms. This is a remote position suited to engineers who enjoy working close to the metal on performance-critical infrastructure.

Responsibilities - Own and evolve the C# client library, keeping it robust, well-tested, and easy for external developers to integrate. - Design, build, and maintain high-performance server applications in C++ that handle petabyte-scale data workloads. - Write message parsers and feed handlers for direct market data feeds from trading venues. - Optimize the codebase for throughput measured in millions of messages per second (up to 40+ gigabits) and latency measured in nanoseconds. - Build tools and libraries for large-scale data processing and analysis. - Partner with the systems team on build, deployment, and CI/CD best practices, plus monitoring and uptime improvements. - Help ensure smooth feature rollouts and updates.

Requirements - 5+ years of full-time software engineering experience at a trading firm, tech company, or high-growth startup. - Strong proficiency in both C++ and C#. - Deep knowledge of systems programming, including algorithms, data structures, multithreading, networked I/O, serialization, CPU architecture, kernels, and compilers. - Experience designing APIs with a strong focus on intuitive, developer-friendly interfaces. - Familiarity with open source best practices such as release management, versioning, changelogs, issue triage, and backwards compatibility. - Comfort working in multiprocess environments and using tools like lldb/gdb, with good communication skills suited to a remote workplace.

Nice to have - Experience with Java. - A genuine interest in low-level optimization, performance engineering, financial data, or algorithmic trading.
