Role overview
This role sits within a Professional and Managed Services organization that delivers AI-powered data protection to enterprise customers. The Senior Data Protection Analyst acts as a subject matter expert on insider-threat and data-loss prevention, partnering closely with client security teams to investigate endpoint incidents, surface risk, and help operationalize a Data Detection and Response platform. It is a client-facing, high-growth environment that values deep technical judgment and clear communication with both technical and executive audiences.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a subject matter expert on data protection issues and external DLP market trends, translating insights into customer value. - Analyze platform event data to refine policies and incident alerts, focusing attention on areas of potential data loss risk. - Partner with clients to design and mature incident response workflows aligned to their security objectives. - Conduct forensic analysis on people, groups, and non-sanctioned egress destinations as requested by customers. - Identify trends and drive requirements that improve detection and response policies over time. - Prepare and present formal summaries and incident investigation findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders. - Collaborate with product and engineering teams to develop strategies for monitoring and preventing data loss, and reduce noise and false positives in analytic output.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience working with a SaaS data protection product, including endpoint protection best practices and incident mitigation workflows. - 2+ years of experience supporting Insider Threat programs and broader information security work. - 4+ years providing expert guidance on security issues affecting data protection, including insider risk from both accidental and malicious actions. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with creative and logical thinking. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to produce management-level presentations on incident investigations. - Customer-centric mindset with strong empathy and the ability to work effectively as part of a global team.
Nice to have
- Hands-on expertise with DLP, Insider Threat, and CASB solutions. - Familiarity with SIEM and SOAR integrations. - Understanding of macOS, Linux, and Windows environments. - Knowledge of security controls for sensitive data types and experience with cloud apps and services.
