Unicorn (Designer + Developer)

Role overview A hybrid design-and-engineering role for someone equally comfortable shaping interfaces in Figma and shipping production frontend code. The work focuses on designing and building user interfaces and admin tooling for a headless commerce service used by developers. It is remote-first, with optional on-site collaboration alongside a core team in Norway.

Responsibilities - Create wireframes and clickthroughs in Figma (or Sketch) to communicate interaction design intent. - Run lightweight user testing sessions against prototypes to validate flows before implementation. - Translate wireframes into polished, accessible visual designs that respect a millisecond-level performance culture. - Implement frontends in React and React Native, including Next.js where appropriate. - Consume GraphQL APIs and integrate with a product information management system to render commerce experiences. - Deploy and iterate on production builds using Vercel, Gatsby Cloud, or AWS, including functional, performance, and SEO testing.

Requirements - A relevant degree in design, software engineering, or a closely related discipline. - Deep design sensibility paired with solid programming ability, with the ability to move fluidly between Figma and code. - Production experience with React or React Native and modern JavaScript or TypeScript tooling. - Comfort working with APIs, ideally GraphQL, and integrating third-party services. - Eagerness to learn continuously and share knowledge with teammates. - An eye for detail and a habit of refining work until both design and performance feel right.

Nice to have - Experience with Node.js, Express, or Gatsby as part of a headless stack. - Interest in native mobile work via React Native alongside web projects.
