About this role

Role overview This senior individual-contributor role focuses on expanding and integrating large-load energy facilities into the electric grid to power AI and high-performance computing infrastructure. The engineer will lead grid interconnection and deliverability studies within the MISO and SPP regional transmission organizations, balancing technical rigor with regulatory navigation. The position sits at the intersection of power systems engineering, energy infrastructure, and rapidly scaling AI compute.

Responsibilities - Perform and support comprehensive grid integration studies for large-load facilities within MISO and SPP, including transmission injection processes and load deliverability studies. - Strategize Points of Interconnection (POIs) based on evolving business needs and shifting regulatory or transmission topology changes. - Draft technical specifications and support business development on the technical aspects of project proposals. - Identify POIs that best serve commercial needs while staying ahead of grid code compliance requirements. - Share expertise and best practices in grid integration and ISO/RTO navigation with the broader technical team.

Requirements - Master's degree in Power Systems with 3+ years of experience, or Bachelor's degree with 7+ years of experience in power systems. - Deep experience in grid planning, system modeling, and grid code compliance studies. - Strong working knowledge of MISO/SPP transmission topology and load interconnection methodologies. - Demonstrated ability to think creatively about POI selection for large-scale load interconnections. - Excellent technical report writing and verbal communication skills.

Nice to have - Experience with other ISO/RTO markets (CAISO, ERCOT, WECC, SERC). - Proficiency with power system simulation tools such as PowerWorld Simulator, ETAP, TSAT, or ASPEN OneLiner. - Working knowledge of scripting languages like R or Python for data analysis and automation.
