About this role
Role overview
Own a modern analytics platform from data ingestion through trusted business reporting, while leading and developing an analytics engineering team. The work includes reshaping data around business domains, improving platform reliability, and introducing governed dashboards and conversational analytics so business users and AI tools can draw on consistent definitions.
Responsibilities - Set the data platform architecture, reliability practices, and roadmap across Snowflake, dbt, and Fivetran; move configuration into version-controlled Terraform with infrastructure partners. - Replace source-shaped data marts with domain-oriented models, and establish modeling, naming, and review standards. - Partner with finance, sales, operations, venue leaders, and product engineering to translate business questions and product changes into models, metrics, and data contracts. - Establish data quality tests, reconciliation checks, contracts, and observability that identify issues before they affect users. - Lead the BI and semantic layers, including governed dashboards, certified metrics, and shared definitions. - Introduce natural-language analytics and data agents with evaluations and safeguards that keep answers consistent with trusted reporting. - Manage and grow analytics engineers, guide contractors, and remain hands-on with dbt models, code reviews, pipeline debugging, and prototypes.
Requirements - Seven or more years in data engineering, analytics engineering, or data architecture, including experience building a production data platform. - Practical experience with Snowflake, dbt, and data ingestion platforms such as Fivetran, plus the ability to design reliable data models and pipelines. - Strong data modeling judgment, with the ability to define shared metrics and convert business questions into clear, dependable datasets. - Experience setting quality, testing, governance, and access practices for analytics data. - Ability to lead, mentor, and coordinate an engineering team while continuing to contribute technically. - Effective communication with technical teams and business stakeholders.
Nice to have
- Experience with Terraform, BI or semantic-layer tools, and Snowflake-native analytics or agent capabilities. - Familiarity with data from CRM, finance, or HR systems, or preparing data for retrieval and agent use cases. - Experience in hospitality, events, real estate, or another multi-location, customer-focused business.
