CPS Solution Architect

Role overview

Design and deliver secure, mission-aligned data and platform solutions for public-sector customers. This consulting role combines solution architecture, data governance advisory, technical delivery, and customer advocacy across the full engagement lifecycle. The architect works with agency stakeholders and internal commercial, product, engineering, support, and leadership teams to achieve adoption, measurable outcomes, and long-term program success.

Responsibilities

- Lead architectural design and implementation of data solutions that follow approved delivery methods and government security requirements. - Develop tailored data governance strategies, transfer knowledge, and connect technical work to agency missions and measurable outcomes. - Facilitate blueprinting sessions, design workshops, requirements gathering, and discussions with business and IT owners. - Troubleshoot difficult connectivity and software issues and coordinate effective resolution with customer and internal teams. - Align platform capabilities with agency mandates, modernization programs, acquisition cycles, and compliance needs. - Support account growth, repeatable delivery, utilization goals, customer advocacy, and expansion of public-sector services.

Requirements

- Five to ten years of consulting experience supporting U.S. federal agencies in data governance, data management, or data quality. - Understanding of cloud platforms, data lakes, databases, integration platforms, and architectures commonly used by federal agencies. - At least two years of experience with cloud environments, REST/JSON integrations, deployment automation, and network-based APIs. - Proficiency with Linux command-line tools and hands-on experience with AWS or Azure, Kubernetes, infrastructure, and platform technologies. - Experience with large-scale data technologies such as Spark and Hadoop. - U.S. citizenship, residence within the United States, and an active Secret, TS, or TS-SCI security clearance.

Nice to have

- Familiarity with LDAP, Kerberos, data pipelines, orchestration, job-control tools, data warehousing, ETL, or data integration. - Knowledge of data stewardship, master data management, cataloging, business rules, or related governance practices. - Ability to use Java, Python, or similar scripting languages for enterprise Linux or Unix implementations. - Experience producing functional and technical specifications or working with comparable data-governance platforms.

Benefits and work setup

- Washington, D.C. metro-area location is preferred, with customer-site work of up to 50%. - Compensation includes a stated base salary range of $96,000–$120,000 annually plus potential commission-based compensation and broader rewards eligibility.
