Role overview
An international software consultancy is hiring a senior QA automation engineer to support one of Europe's largest e-commerce platforms, used daily by millions of shoppers and sellers. The work centres on automating tests for APIs, web interfaces, and embedded mobile modules inside the client's flagship shopping app. The position sits within a quality-focused delivery team that values customer outcomes and a people-first engineering culture.
Responsibilities
- Design and grow automated API integration tests, validating endpoint contracts and partner integrations. - Build and maintain end-to-end test suites covering web applications and mobile modules that sit inside the main shopping product. - Model complex integration scenarios, mock dependencies on external systems, and safeguard critical conversion and checkout journeys. - Stabilise regression suites that protect payment and order flows from breakage across releases. - Document test design decisions and share patterns with other engineers working on the same platform.
Requirements
- Strong hands-on experience automating API tests using tools such as REST Assured or Postman. - Familiarity with contract testing, ideally using Pact or comparable frameworks. - Practical experience with at least one modern UI automation tool for web, such as Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium, and/or mobile automation with Appium. - Proficiency in at least one programming or scripting language used for testing, preferably Java, Kotlin, or TypeScript/JavaScript. - Comfort designing end-to-end scenarios that span multiple systems and external services. - Communicative English at B2 level or above.
Nice to have
- Experience wiring automated tests into CI/CD pipelines. - Exposure to performance and load testing. - Basic familiarity with security testing or API scanning tooling.
