Senior Data Engineer

Role overview Design and operate data platforms that support analytics, business intelligence, and reporting. The role spans large-scale ingestion and transformation, cloud warehouse and lakehouse architecture, data quality, and collaboration with analytics and machine learning teams. It is offered as full-time or contract work.

Responsibilities - Architect and build production ETL/ELT pipelines for large data volumes using distributed processing and orchestration tools such as Spark, Airflow, Kafka, and dbt. - Design and optimize cloud warehouses, data lakes, and lakehouses for analytical workloads. - Establish data validation, monitoring, and testing to improve accuracy, performance, and security. - Develop resilient dimensional models, including star schema or Data Vault approaches, and tune queries and storage. - Partner with data scientists, machine learning engineers, and business analytics stakeholders to translate needs into scalable data designs. - Mentor other data engineers, improve deployment practices, and maintain architecture documentation.

Requirements - At least five years of professional data engineering experience, including work on distributed data platforms. - Hands-on expertise with data processing and orchestration tools such as Spark, Airflow, Kafka, and dbt, and with a cloud warehouse such as Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, or Redshift. - Advanced Python or Scala skills and strong SQL performance tuning capabilities. - Experience delivering cloud data solutions on AWS, Azure, or GCP. - Knowledge of data modeling methods such as star schema, dimensional modeling, or Data Vault. - Independent troubleshooting skills, commitment to data integrity, and advanced spoken and written English for direct collaboration with U.S.-based teams.
