Role overview
A senior product role driving strategy and execution for a wargaming and modeling-and-simulation platform serving defense customers. The position sits at the intersection of high-fidelity simulation, geospatial data, AI, and real-time decision support, where product choices carry meaningful operational consequences.
Responsibilities
- Own product strategy and execution for one or more mission-critical software products, from discovery through delivery and iteration. - Build deep user empathy through customer interviews, workflow observation, and close partnership with domain experts. - Quickly ramp into unfamiliar technical domains and translate complex concepts into clear product direction. - Define product vision, strategy, roadmaps, and success metrics tied to customer outcomes and business goals. - Convert user needs, technical capabilities, and business priorities into well-scoped product requirements. - Partner with Design on user-centered discovery and with Engineering on tradeoffs and implementation approaches. - Make thoughtful decisions balancing customer value, technical complexity, speed, and long-term platform investment. - Drive alignment across Engineering, Design, leadership, and customers throughout the product lifecycle. - Use qualitative and quantitative signals to evaluate performance and continuously sharpen outcomes. - Communicate product decisions, priorities, and rationale clearly across technical and non-technical audiences.
Requirements
- Experience owning software products from discovery through launch in a technical B2B, enterprise, or platform environment. - Demonstrated ability to rapidly learn new industries, technologies, and customer domains. - Strong customer discovery and user research skills with a record of turning insights into roadmap decisions. - Sharp product judgment and prioritization skills under uncertainty. - Proven track record of working with Engineering and Design as equal partners through the development lifecycle. - Strong systems thinking and the ability to simplify complex technical concepts into intuitive experiences. - Experience defining strategy from customer insights, business goals, and technical constraints. - Outstanding communication and stakeholder influence across executive, technical, and customer audiences. - Comfort operating in ambiguous, fast-moving environments where priorities shift with new information. - Strong written communication for requirements, strategy documents, and decision artifacts. - Eligibility to obtain and maintain an active U.S. security clearance.
