About this role

Role overview

Build AI-powered automation that helps internal teams turn manual processes into reliable, supported workflows. You’ll work directly with the people doing the work to understand their decisions and edge cases, then develop agents that connect to business systems and can be evaluated, deployed, and maintained in production. This is an individual-contributor engineering role with close collaboration across business and data teams.

Responsibilities

- Translate team processes, judgment, and exceptions into reusable skills that agents can apply. - Connect agents to systems of record through MCP servers and compose tools into multi-step workflows. - Define success criteria with business partners, create evaluation datasets, and use measured results to guide release decisions. - Move agent workflows from prototype to production, including permissions, human review, audit trails, rollback, and ongoing support. - Work with data engineers on the access, models, and quality of data used by agents. - Document workflows and help establish internal owners who can operate them after launch.

Requirements

- At least five years of hands-on software development experience. - Substantial practical experience building and shipping LLM applications, including prompting, tool use, agent loops, and multi-step workflows. - Experience shipping at least one agent or AI workflow used by non-engineers. - Practical familiarity with MCP, agent skills or tools, and connecting agents to operational systems. - Experience building evaluation sets and using results to make engineering or release decisions. - Strong Python, comfort with SQL and production data models, and working knowledge of Git, CI, and containers. - Ability to map a non-technical team's process into requirements and make progress amid unclear documentation or ownership.

Nice to have

- Experience building or maintaining MCP servers. - Background in solutions engineering, professional services, internal tools, or an early-stage company. - Familiarity with work-tracking, customer-support, CRM, or data-warehouse systems. - Experience in insurance, fintech, or another regulated field.

Benefits and work setup

- Remote-first work environment. - Listed US base salary range: $115,000–$168,000, depending in part on geographic market and qualifications. - Medical, dental, and vision coverage; a 401(k) plan with employer match; flexible PTO; and paid parental leave are described. - Annual home-office support, coworking access, and wellness programs are also listed.
