Associate Security Support Specialist, Wirespeed

Role overview

An associate-level security support role on the Wirespeed team, focused on helping customers navigate security questions, incidents, and product issues. The position combines technical support, security judgment, and product expertise, with close collaboration across threat engineering, product, and security engineering teams. It emphasizes clear communication with both technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

- Investigate complex, ambiguous, or novel customer issues from initial report through resolution and follow-up - Coordinate with Threat Engineering on threat-related escalations and active incidents - Analyze security data, product behavior, and customer context to recommend next steps - Translate technical findings into practical guidance tailored to customer environments and risk tolerance - Document investigations, decisions, and known issues for reuse across the team - Identify recurring customer pain points and turn them into product and process improvements

Requirements

- 3+ years in security analysis, incident response, security product support, or technical support - Practical understanding of common cyber threats and how security issues manifest in real environments - Strong investigative judgment with the ability to assess urgency and escalate severe concerns - Excellent communication and documentation skills for technical and non-technical stakeholders - Demonstrated ownership of complex cases and ability to manage them autonomously - Ability to collaborate across support, threat engineering, product, engineering, and security teams

Nice to have

- Experience supporting customers during security investigations or complex technical cases - Background with managed security services or high-volume support or security operations environments - Experience creating runbooks, knowledge base content, or escalation workflows - Familiarity with queries, scripts, or troubleshooting tools used for investigation - Mentoring, peer leadership, or subject-matter expert experience
