IT Manager

Role overview

A part-time IT Manager position is open at a remote-first fintech company to own day-to-day IT operations for a small, fast-growing US-based team. The role combines employee support, device administration, and security collaboration, with roughly 8–10 hours per week of ongoing work plus separately scoped project engagements as needs arise.

Responsibilities

- Run IT onboarding and offboarding, including device setup, account provisioning, and access management - Administer a predominantly Mac device fleet, keeping machines enrolled, configured, patched, and compliant - Resolve everyday employee IT issues directly without heavy internal escalation - Maintain core IT systems, tooling, and reliable process records - Coordinate with external partners and vendors for support and escalations - Partner with the security team on endpoint protection, DNS tooling, MDM migration, and SOC 2-related IT requirements - Identify gaps, risks, and improvement opportunities before they turn into problems

Requirements

- Prior hands-on experience supporting IT at an early-stage or Series A/B startup - Comfort working autonomously in a small-company environment with minimal guidance - Fluency managing Mac environments, including Mac MDMs and Apple Business Manager - Understanding of how IT operations connect to endpoint security, access management, and compliance programs - Strong interpersonal skills for helping end users and discussing trade-offs with security and leadership teams - Sound judgment and a pragmatic, low-overhead approach suited to a team of roughly 40 people

Nice to have

- Familiarity with tools such as Iru, ThreatDown, Google Workspace, and Vanta - Ability to provide occasional onsite support in the San Francisco Bay Area
