Role overview
A senior solutions architect position based in Japan, focused on supporting enterprise infrastructure sales efforts across the region. The role partners with senior account executives to design and validate solutions built on open-source enterprise Linux distributions, workload orchestration platforms, cluster provisioning tools, and container technologies. The work spans pre-sales discovery, proof-of-concept deployments, and partner enablement for organizations running HPC, AI/ML, and hybrid cloud workloads.
Responsibilities
- Partner with senior sales counterparts to scope customer requirements and shape appropriate technical solutions. - Deliver presentations, hands-on demonstrations, and workshops that communicate Linux and orchestration capabilities to technical and executive audiences. - Lead technical discovery sessions, design reference architectures, and run proof-of-concept deployments for prospects and existing customers. - Advise on integration patterns, deployment best practices, and performance tuning for compute-intensive environments. - Provide technical training and architectural guidance to local system integrators and resellers. - Act as a feedback channel between customers and product engineering, surfacing enhancement ideas and helping align roadmaps.
Requirements
- 7+ years in technical pre-sales, solutions architecture, or systems engineering roles. - Expert-level knowledge of Linux, containerization, and systems integration. - Strong customer-facing communication abilities, comfortable presenting at the whiteboard, command line, or customer site. - Fluent in Japanese with confident written and verbal English. - Demonstrated success collaborating with sales teams to close complex, multi-stakeholder technical deals. - Self-directed experience supporting multiple customer projects within a remote-first team.
Nice to have
- Hands-on experience with HPC workload orchestration or parallel computing tools. - Familiarity with open-source enterprise Linux distributions, cluster provisioning platforms, or container runtimes such as Apptainer.
