Remote job
Senior Technical Program Manager
Job details
About this role
Role overview
This is a senior, strategic program management role embedded inside a security organization that must balance long-term, proactive initiatives against reactive, business-critical demands. The position operates horizontally across multiple security teams, partnering closely with leaders while building the structure, visibility, and prioritization mechanisms that help the organization make deliberate choices about where to focus. Over time, the scope is expected to grow into broader, company-wide planning and execution processes.
Responsibilities
- Own workflow, project tracking, and dependency management across three security teams, making it clear what is on track, what is at risk, and what downstream impact proposed changes may have. - Build and maintain dashboards and reporting that give company leadership a durable, consistent view of security risk, exposure, and overall program health. - Partner day-to-day with a primary security team while supporting the other two as priorities and capacity allow. - Make and communicate prioritization decisions when demand exceeds capacity, including proposing alternatives and helping stakeholders understand trade-offs rather than simply saying no. - Design and roll out lightweight processes that improve how security teams operate without adding unnecessary overhead for engineers. - Work directly with product, engineering, legal, finance, sales, marketing, and other partner functions to establish clear, effective ways of working with security.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in program management, technical program management, or operations roles. - Meaningful experience in a broad, cross-functional program or operations role supporting many stakeholders across an organization, rather than working inside a single self-contained team. - A track record of building processes and exercising sound judgment in ambiguous environments, rather than defaulting to off-the-shelf frameworks or playbooks. - Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to act as a strategic and consultative partner across functions. - Experience managing competing priorities and communicating trade-offs, including difficult prioritization calls, clearly and thoughtfully. - Comfort working in a fast-moving, scaling environment where processes are still being defined.
Nice to have
- Prior security experience is welcomed but not required; the ability to operate horizontally with a large, diverse stakeholder group matters more.
Benefits and work setup
- Remote-first culture with team meetup opportunities and bi-annual destination summits, plus a monthly stipend for coworking, phone, and internet costs. - Equity through stock options granted at hire and promotion, secondary offering participation, and a 10-year option exercise window. - 100% covered health, vision, and dental insurance for employees and dependents. - Flexible paid time off. - 18 weeks of paid parental leave for birthing parents and 12 weeks for non-birthing parents. - Base salary range of $169,000–$198,500 USD.
