AI Solution Engineer

Role overview

A remote-first AI Solution Engineer role focused on a consultative, hands-on practice of finding where AI can deliver real operational value and carrying those improvements from discovery through delivery. The position partners with business leaders and cross-functional teams to map how work actually gets done, surface friction, and integrate AI-assisted tools and process redesigns. It is explicitly a technical consulting and delivery role — not a data science or ML engineering position — and demands sharp business acumen, strong communication, and the engineering ability to build practical solutions.

Responsibilities

- Run structured discovery sessions with business units to map workflows, identify manual or repetitive steps, and surface opportunities where AI can meaningfully reduce time, cost, or error rates, then maintain a prioritized opportunity backlog with business cases and effort estimates. - Build trusted relationships across operations, finance, product, support, and other functions; facilitate workshops, interviews, and process walkthroughs to align on requirements and success criteria before any build begins. - Translate business needs into scoped technical designs and deliver AI-assisted solutions using existing platforms, APIs, and tools — owning the solution end-to-end from design through deployment and handoff. - Redesign the underlying processes that AI solutions support, document new workflows, manage dependencies, and track efficiency gains post-implementation to drive real adoption. - Convert complex technical work into plain-language summaries, business cases, and executive presentations, regularly communicating progress, tradeoffs, and outcomes to leadership. - Enable internal teams to use AI tools confidently through playbooks and lightweight training, while ensuring responsible deployment with appropriate attention to data privacy, access controls, auditability, and policy alignment.

Requirements

- 5+ years of experience in technical consulting, solutions engineering, or software development with a track record of delivering measurable business improvements. - Demonstrated experience conducting process assessments or workflow analysis across business functions and owning the resulting improvement roadmap. - Proficiency in one or more general-purpose languages (Python preferred; Java, JavaScript, or similar valued), comfortable building integrations and automating workflows. - Working knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS preferred) including managed services, API connectivity, and basic DevOps practices. - Comfort with structured data, SQL queries, and business reporting tools to identify patterns, establish baselines, and quantify impact. - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or equivalent practical experience, plus the communication skills to run productive discovery sessions and present confidently to executive audiences.
