Lead Applied AI Engineer

Role overview Serve as a technical anchor on the team building AI systems that reason about enterprise applications end to end, from agents and orchestration to specification extraction and LLM evaluation. This remote (US) role blends hands-on production engineering with leadership, mentoring, and architectural influence across the platform's AI capabilities.

Responsibilities - Architect, build, and optimize production AI systems while remaining deeply hands-on technically. - Design reliable agents and orchestration, including planning, tool use, memory, state, and permission-aware boundaries. - Extract executable specifications from source, metadata, tests, and runtime behavior, mapping them onto an internal object model. - Build semantic and dependency models plus retrieval that give AI accurate context across large enterprise estates. - Develop evaluation and CI pipelines that gate quality and surface real regressions. - Use AI coding tools fluently to accelerate delivery without sacrificing correctness. - Engineer reliability, latency, and efficiency into core systems at enterprise scale. - Mentor junior engineers and contribute to internal technical documentation.

Requirements - BS in Computer Science or a related technical/analytical discipline. - 7+ years of relevant software development experience (or 5+ years with a Master's in CS or related field). - Strong distributed-systems background including retries, idempotency, partial failure, long-running tasks, and recovery. - Solid software engineering, data-pipeline, and observability skills, comfortable owning a production service end to end. - Demonstrated experience evaluating and selectively applying AI-generated code in production contexts. - Exceptional ability to communicate complex architectures verbally, visually, and in writing.

Nice to have - Background in code search, repository intelligence, or developer tools. - Experience modernizing legacy codebases and workflows. - Familiarity with enterprise platforms such as Salesforce or ServiceNow.
