Senior Forward Deployed Engineer

Role overview Own client engagements that take artificial intelligence from discovery through deployment, spanning technical delivery and organizational adoption. Depending on specialization, the work may center on engineering and IT systems or on AI enablement and workflow change within a business function; in either case, the engineer is accountable for decisions, delivery, and the client relationship.

Responsibilities - Lead discovery, stakeholder interviews, and architecture reviews independently, turning uncertain needs into scoped, deliverable work. - Design and build solutions suited to each client’s technical environment and constraints, and take responsibility for their quality. - Manage delivery scope, surface risks early, and identify opportunities to extend the work. - Leave behind documented, runnable, maintainable software or automations that clients can operate after the engagement. - Contribute reusable patterns, templates, and components to the broader practice. - For operational engagements, map user needs, deliver role-specific AI enablement, and implement workflow automations.

Requirements - Five or more years of engineering or technical delivery experience, including substantial embedded or client-facing work. - Evidence of independently owning an account from kickoff through close. - Hands-on depth in at least one area: LLM applications, cloud-native architecture, large-scale backend systems, or enterprise automation. - Ability to make technical decisions and manage delivery quality within a client environment. - Clear communication with both technical teams and senior business leaders, adapting detail without losing precision. - Comfort delivering useful outcomes amid ambiguity and changing requirements.

Nice to have Production AI experience with RAG, agents, fine-tuned models, or other LLM applications; hands-on familiarity with Claude, AWS Bedrock, or comparable platforms; consulting or systems integration experience; and knowledge of statement-of-work delivery and scope management. Operational work may benefit from business-function expertise, AI enablement for nontechnical teams, workflow tools such as Zapier or Power Automate, or enterprise platforms such as Salesforce, Workday, and ServiceNow. Relevant AWS certifications are also valued.

Benefits and work setup The position is remote and may involve travel of up to 50%, depending on business needs. The stated base salary range is CAD $150,000–$235,000 per year, with possible additional incentives.
