Security Senior Software Developer

Role overview A fully remote opportunity is open for a senior software developer to act as a technical leader across a cloud-native SaaS platform. The position blends hands-on engineering with architectural influence, applied security ownership, and an AI-first mindset that treats agentic coding tools as the default way of working. The scope spans modern distributed services in the cloud and the occasional security refactor or patch inside a legacy native Windows codebase.

Responsibilities - Shape architecture and design through RFCs, prototypes, design discussions, and hands-on delivery across the full software development lifecycle. - Define and evolve back-end service standards for scalability, security, reliability, and APIs, while breaking large initiatives into parallel, incremental deliveries. - Own the security posture and CVE-remediation strategy across the cloud platform dependency graph, extending that discipline to native Windows components when needed. - Drive automation across builds, testing, deployment, and operational workflows, and improve CI/CD pipelines and overall SDLC maturity. - Champion AI-assisted development practices, verify generated output, establish guardrails, and mentor other developers through design reviews and joint agentic-AI sessions. - Troubleshoot persistent production issues, drive reliability and observability improvements, and represent the team in technical discussions with product, security, operations, and external stakeholders.

Requirements - Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience, plus 8 or more years of professional software development with impact beyond a single team. - Proven experience designing and operating distributed, cloud-native, multi-tenant SaaS platforms at scale, ideally on AWS. - Strong fundamentals in object-oriented design, design patterns, and SOLID principles, with a track record of advocating for code quality. - Hands-on experience with agentic-AI software development practices and modern AI-assisted tooling. - Experience designing and consuming well-structured HTTP APIs such as REST or GraphQL, and mentoring developers while influencing architectural decisions across teams. - Deep cloud-native service architecture expertise, combined with enough native Windows and C++ background (or willingness to build it) to safely refactor and patch legacy desktop code.

Nice to have - Familiarity with Azure or Google Cloud in addition to AWS. - Containerization and orchestration experience with Docker and Kubernetes. - Open-source contributions or a strong GitHub portfolio. - Experience with native Windows development using C++, MFC, or COM, or applied cryptography libraries.
