About this role
Role overview A field-facing quality role on an agriculture-technology team that builds computer-vision and laser-based weeding systems. The position focuses on identifying, diagnosing, and resolving systemic performance issues across a large dataset of high-resolution field imagery, serving as the bridge between growers and the engineering teams.
Responsibilities - Build deep working knowledge of how the weeding system performs in the field and the failure modes that can degrade it. - Audit imagery and operational data to ensure clean, appropriate datasets. - Partner with support to investigate issues and confirm data integrity before cases are escalated or closed. - Validate solutions, document results, and capture customer feedback in a structured, reportable form. - Translate field tests, model issues, and customer feedback into actionable engineering follow-ups. - Prepare review cases for field personnel to assess labels and predictions. - Surface performance-related issues and work with engineers on corrective solutions. - Design and run field experiments that drive measurable performance improvements.
Requirements - Education or professional experience in Agronomy or Farming, with strong familiarity with agricultural industry practices, operations, and culture. - Data annotation experience and a detail-oriented approach to accurate reporting. - Highly motivated independent thinker with strong problem-solving skills. - Excellent time management and the ability to juggle multiple priorities simultaneously. - Proven collaboration skills for working with customers and internal engineering, support, and field teams at the same time. - Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Google Suite and Confluence. - Ability to identify and address high-risk situations and make safe independent decisions based on process. - Willingness to travel to farms approximately 25–50% of the time.
Benefits and work setup - Fully paid medical, dental, and vision insurance for employees and all dependents, with a choice of PPO or HDHP/HSA plans. - Virtual care, an Employee Assistance Program, a Mental Health HRA, and restricted healthcare travel support, plus menopause support. - Life insurance, long-term disability, flexible PTO, a 401(k) plan, pet insurance, and commuter benefits. - Pre-IPO stock options for full-time US-based employees; international benefits vary and contractors are not eligible for benefits or stock.
