About this role
Role overview Lead the security function for a hospitality technology platform that processes guest data and payments for thousands of properties worldwide. This player-coach position blends people leadership with hands-on ownership of the full security and compliance program, serving as the primary security voice to customers, partners, auditors, and the executive team.
Responsibilities - Manage and grow a small team of security engineers, including hiring, performance management, prioritization, and career development - Own the end-to-end security and compliance program across frameworks such as SOC 2, PCI DSS, GDPR/CCPA, and other applicable standards - Act as the primary security point of contact, translating technical posture into clear narratives for customer security teams, partners, and internal leadership - Run vendor and third-party risk management, including review of security terms in customer and vendor contracts - Author, maintain, and communicate company-wide security policies and standards, and run security awareness and training programs - Set technical direction for security tooling while staying hands-on in architecture reviews, threat modeling, and security design decisions
Requirements - 8+ years in security engineering with at least 2 years leading a team as a manager or tech lead - Proven experience owning compliance programs end to end, such as SOC 2 Type II, PCI DSS, or ISO 27001 - Strong written and verbal communication skills for both technical and executive audiences - Hands-on technical foundation in cloud security (AWS), identity and access management, application security, and vulnerability management - Experience with vendor risk management and reviewing security terms in contracts - Track record of building pragmatic, risk-based security programs at a growth-stage SaaS company
Nice to have - Background in hospitality, fintech, or payments industries - CISSP, CISM, or CISA certifications
