Role overview
A summer internship supporting enterprise data governance, reporting, and analytics initiatives that shape how business decisions are made across the organization. The role is remote, full-time, and pairs interns with stakeholders to document data needs, build taxonomies, and contribute to reporting quality and literacy efforts.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to capture and document data reporting requirements, policies, and definitions. - Evaluate existing business processes and workflows against data management and governance frameworks, surfacing improvement opportunities. - Derive data taxonomies from documented processes to support standard operating procedure playbooks and data hierarchies. - Develop and maintain documentation such as data glossaries, report summaries, process maps, and technical specifications. - Create consistent models and templates for documenting business and reporting requirements. - Support testing and validation of reports against business needs and quality standards. - Analyze datasets to surface trends, patterns, and actionable insights. - Help improve data literacy and the adoption of data-driven decision-making across teams.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a degree in data analytics or a closely related field. - Junior standing with a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher. - Demonstrated data analysis skills with the ability to work independently. - Solid understanding of data governance concepts and experience documenting processes, workflows, and data definitions. - Interest in learning business operations and organizational data practices. - Must be available 40 hours per week during 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Eastern for the full nine-week program. - Must reside in the United States and perform all work there. - Sponsorship is not available.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with data modeling concepts. - Exposure to reporting and BI tools such as Power BI.
