Role overview A consulting firm specializing in SAP and supply chain transformation is seeking a people manager to lead a team of SAP consultants supporting mission-critical client implementations. The role combines hands-on leadership, client engagement, skills development, and project oversight, with regular travel to client sites up to 50% of the time. SAP EWM/TM experience is desirable but not required.
Responsibilities - Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of SAP consultants, setting priorities, conducting reviews, and supporting career progression. - Design and run training programs covering SAP modules, warehouse optimization best practices, and emerging topics like automation and AI. - Manage budgets, resource allocation, and cost controls to keep engagements profitable. - Serve as the primary client contact for SAP projects, gathering requirements, managing expectations, and ensuring on-time delivery. - Plan and oversee SAP solution delivery in collaboration with cross-functional teams, ensuring adherence to timelines, quality standards, and best practices. - Contribute to firm-wide SAP strategy by tracking market trends, recommending improvements, and supporting business development. - Travel to client sites for workshops, troubleshooting, and hands-on leadership while maintaining remote productivity.
Requirements - Bachelor's degree in IT, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field; Master's preferred. - 5+ years of leadership or management experience, including remote team development. - Background in cost management methodologies; Earned Value Management experience is highly desirable. - Strong client-facing skills with a track record of stakeholder management and successful project delivery. - Familiarity with SDLC, agile and waterfall delivery, and tools such as Jira or Microsoft Project. - Willingness to travel up to 50%, including potential international assignments.
Nice to have - Prior work with federal or defense agencies. - SDLC and SAP EWM/TM experience.
