Lead Solution Architect

Role overview Serve as the technical design authority for a greenfield SAP S/4HANA financial modernization program, accountable for an integrated solution across nine financial process areas. You will lead architecture governance, guide process area architects, and align solution, cloud, data, platform, and security designs through formal reviews and delivery milestones.

Responsibilities - Own the end-to-end target architecture spanning finance, budget execution, assets, payables and receivables, cost accounting, inventory, reporting, integrations, and legacy transition. - Lead and develop the solution architecture team and coordinate architecture across cloud, data, platform, and security domains. - Chair architecture reviews, set design principles and standards, document decisions, and resolve cross-team design conflicts. - Enforce fit-to-standard and clean-core principles; evaluate custom development and extensions against standard capabilities and document justified exceptions. - Govern the financial data model and integration architecture across SAP, analytics, and logistics, procurement, and personnel systems. - Define non-functional requirements, review design documentation, defend the architecture at milestone gates, and advise leadership on technical trade-offs and delivery risks.

Requirements - At least ten years of SAP experience, including five or more years as a solution, enterprise, or lead architect. - At least two full lifecycle SAP implementations with direct architecture or lead design authority; greenfield S/4HANA experience is preferred. - Deep SAP S/4HANA Finance knowledge, including the universal journal, general ledger, asset accounting, controlling, and public sector funds management. - Experience establishing architecture governance, chairing review boards, setting design standards, and maintaining formal decision records. - Experience designing integrations across SAP and non-SAP platforms using APIs, middleware, services, and asynchronous messaging. - Related bachelor’s degree and extensive people leadership experience, including managing other people leaders; the stated ranges are 10–15 years of professional experience and 5–8 years leading people with a degree, or 14–18 years and 8–11 years without one. Active Secret clearance or ability to obtain and maintain one before assignment is required; U.S. citizenship is required.

Nice to have - Experience with federal financial audit drivers and government cloud environments at Impact Level 4 or 5.
