Cybersecurity Engineer

Role overview

A mid-level cybersecurity engineer role focused on protecting software applications and IT systems across web, cloud, and on-prem environments. The position partners closely with engineering teams to embed security into the software development lifecycle, from design through deployment, and raises security maturity across both technical and non-technical audiences. Responsibilities

- Run application and cloud security assessments to surface risks and prioritize remediation. - Embed security testing and automated checks into CI/CD pipelines and the broader SDLC. - Triage findings, support penetration testing, and guide engineering teams on remediation. - Contribute to cloud security architecture aligned with recognized industry standards. - Investigate and resolve application security incidents in AWS and on-prem environments. - Maintain security documentation, dashboards, and tooling that monitor product security posture. - Deliver awareness sessions on phishing, social engineering, and other common threats.

Requirements

- 2–4 years of application security experience with working knowledge of AWS. - Hands-on design of secure infrastructure solutions across AWS and on-prem environments. - Practical experience with SAST and DAST tooling such as GitHub Advanced Security. - Familiarity with threat modeling, vulnerability management, penetration testing, and remediation advisory. - Experience automating security controls and integrating them into CI/CD workflows. - Strong communication skills for explaining complex security concepts to varied stakeholders. - Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field.

- Prior professional software development experience. - Experience creating or delivering security education and training material.
